U7/U8 Mini Festival at Kingston RFC
Camberley and Teddington came to Kingston for a mini festival. Despite a wind which wouldn’t have been out of place in Antarctica, the U6-U8s had a great time training and playing against two teams from Camberley and a Teddington team. The matches were played in a great spirit and although the trophy was won by Teddington everyone enjoyed themselves.

Sutton and Epsom v Kingston Tigers
A lovely sunny morning saw Simon’s Kingston minis 12 and Unders play their final fixture of the season away to Sutton and Epsom, who made us very welcome. The pitches were very hard, resulting in a few bumps and scratches but everyone enjoyed the games (and the cakes afterwards).
The old cliché of “a game of two halves” would have fitted this game well. For the first 15 minutes Kingston hardly touched the ball as the well organised Sutton team passed and moved the ball well and scored two good tries. Gradually Kingston’s defence improved – as Jasper’s dad pointed out, they were getting plenty of practice!
In the second half the tide turned as first Lewis darted down the side lines for a great solo try, then Ben with a typical mazy run and Ryan with a drive through scored to take Kingston into the lead. Both teams were fighting hard but Kingston were beginning to break through and good tackling throughout the team seemed to wear the Sutton team down and break up their passing play. The Tigers kept the pressure up to the very end and the game ended with a rolling maul, with Yaseen at the heart of it, which carried the ball nearly the full length of the pitch and only failed to result in a try as the Sutton defence held the ball up. Everyone played their part and the team spirit was fantastic!
After this the teams mixed in with Sutton for another set of games, and special mention must be given to Abi, Sophia and Ryan who were the last in the ring for the ‘Sumo’ match with Abi being last in the ring as overall champion of Sutton and Kingston!
The younger minis under Rory also enjoyed a series of mixed matches with the Sutton contingent.

Mini Tournament with Teddington, Jersey and London Irish U11s
Coaching and a game of TAG with Teddington U8s
U11 Match Report for 11/03/12
Jersey Vs Kingston 19 – 7
Teddington Vs Kingston 19 – 33
London Irish Vs Kingston 15 – 5
What a great way to spend a sunny Sunday morning playing a three way against Teddington, Jersey and London Irish in Bushy Park.
Well done to all players and parents for getting to the pitch on time, a few Sat Nav stories being told, but all made it in the end.
After a short warm up it was straight into the first match against Jersey, which saw Jersey have the only try of the day scored against them by Ben, and then successfully converted by Ryan.
The second match of the day against Teddington saw Kingston’s win of the day as we levelled the loss when Teddington had visited recently.
The third match saw a tired Kingston face London Irish in what was still a close fought contest.
I’ve got a sore throat but happy with the performance of all players. Especially some of the new boys, with Soreen and Zack getting stuck in. Everyone looked like they had a great time and happy faces a plenty. Finally Jersey presented all clubs with their Academy shield which will be given to the club for display in future.

U8 Match Report for 11/03/12
Rory and the U8′s enjoyed an action packed training session with the Teddington U8′s. They played Rugby rounders and lots of other new games and training drills, Rory has lots of new ideas to take back to training at KRFC.
All in all, the Minis had a fantastic morning at Teddington, with lots of new skills to take back to Kingston and with more experience under their belts!

Kingston Tigers U9-U12s v Teddington U11s
Kingston Tigers U6-U8s v Teddington U7s
Match Report for 19/02/12, KRFC v Teddington U11s
Bright sunshine welcomed Teddington U11s to Kingston for our first match since January.
KRFC and Teddington enjoyed 3 games of Rugby Sumo to get everyone warmed up. This was then followed by the main event, which saw the team Captain, Ben score the first try for Kingston, which was then successfully converted by Lewis. The Kingston team the found themselves challenged by Teddington and at half time saw Kingston losing by 24 to 7.
Showing true determination Kingston came back for the second half in a valiant attempt to claw back some points, but Teddington played well and managed to keep the lead, though the gap was reduced with the final score 32 to 19.
The Teddington coach commented how he was impressed with the Kingston side, with particularly favourable remarks, made of Lauren, Abi and Sofia, Ryan and Ben and the clubs facilities.
Man of the match was awarded to Louie.
All now looking forward to the return match at Teddington on March 11th, when we play Teddington, London Irish and Jersey.

Weybridge Vandals v Kingston Tigers U10, U11 & U12s
After a delayed start while many watched the RWC 2011 Final, our mixed U10, U11 & U12 team really enjoyed their first real match of the season.
It was a close result and, although we didn’t win, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
